About Us

Schoharie County Rural Preservation Corporation (SCRPC) has proudly served our rural communities for more than four decades. Established in 1984 by Roland Crowe and Adele Hayes, SCRPC has consistently worked to ensure that local seniors, families, and individuals have access to safe, quality, and affordable housing. The organization’s early work was strengthened by the original grant written by Sandy MacKay, helping lay the foundation for SCRPC’s long-term impact in Schoharie County.
In 1986, SCRPC began administering the HUD Housing Choice Voucher Program under “The Village of Cobleskill,” providing vital rental assistance to Schoharie County residents. Over the years, SCRPC has expanded its reach through both housing development and community programs, including:
  • Parsonage Pines, a 24-unit senior housing community in the Village of Schoharie, opened more than 30 years ago.
  • Spring Meadows, a 24-unit senior housing site in the Village of Sharon Springs, established nearly 30 years ago.
  • Additional rental housing units owned and managed by SCRPC in the Village of Cobleskill.
Beyond these housing developments, SCRPC administers a range of grants and programs that helps residents remain safe and comfortable in their homes for years to come.
